Contrary to ....

no that won't do.

In case you've wondered...

naw, maybe you haven't.

Ok, I haven't been around much. in the last two weeks,
My laptop lost it's keyboard.
My desktop puter suffered from a power surge.
The wifely unit's laptop suffered a loss of power supply.

which brings me to Christmas. With 6 grandkids, the idea of a working bunch of puters, and 6 pair of weepy-eyes from kids with coal in their stockin' was just too much to bear. So, I am reduced to occasionally sitting down to brother-in-law's machine to check email, etc. until the money backs up.

Yup, we blew the wad on the g-kids.

An interesting phenomena has reared it's ugly (I think) head. You know them fast-scurrying folk you only ever get a glimpse of, out the corner of your eye? Sometimes called shadow people, and other things?

I had not seen on myself for at least a couple years. No idea why, I don't ask. Anyway, I've seen them twice now in the last couple days.

The first was the typical, roughly 4 ft tall grey-ish semi-transparent something or another, which whisked by the kitchen door, leaving me with the usual "did I just see that? naw... couldn't be. but I did. didn't I?" kind of reaction. Alas, a singularity is of little use, really.

Then later that same afternoon, going passed the same kitchen door, whooshed by what looked to be the same critter. Ah, there was a difference!

This time, Panda my dog (http://fredsitelive.com/images/post/Panda_00.jpg) (yes, he is a handsome devil. and aptly named), quickly raised his head, alert, and his head and eyes followed in the same direction, it appeared to have gone. It was, for him, convincing enough that he then looked over to the area in the living room where next something going thataway would be visible.

No other oddities of late, but if I catch one monkeying around with one of my puters, screwdriver in hand, there'll be hell to pay!

Back more often when the money backs up,

Fred ;)

scary

I have had a few "feeling of being watched" moments but never any shadow people, although I have read up on them doing paranormal research

I have yet to notice any direct ill effect of their presence. who what they are, I have no clue.

Speculation runs amok, though. inter-dimensional observers "caught looking" for a moment, has seemed the most plausible to me. I have nothing to offer for this belief, other than it's the one that seems to hover in the brain.

About 10 years ago, their appearances were much more common for me. I was then known to spend not a few weekends partying till the wee hours with a group of friends. Membership in these events was almost always the same 8-10 people.

Their appearances were usually in the 12-4 AM time frame. In fact, they became common enough that we sort of stopped commenting on them, unless they were "mutual"... co-incident. Comments became rather standard, as one person would say something like, "Nope, I didn't see that." followed by one or more "Nope, I didn't either."

If they really are merely observers, that would have been a hoot. Seems odd they'd drop by to watch a darts game, often enough to "get sloppy" in their passing, such that we both became a set of observers of each other.

One difference I would note tho... those seemed nearly a foot shorter than my visitor of the other day. Now, that could also be a matter of perspective, since, as we were usually playing darts back then we would be standing, while this time I was seated on the couch, both times.

I love reflecting on events like that where there is outside corroboration.

One which has always fascinated me was a time I awoke from a "waking dream" involving two other people. One of whom also remembered the same events, from the same nite. The third person, unfortunately seemed to rememeber the "dream" but, our only real confirmation was that, when asked about it, she refused to discuss the entire event, and was most insistent. (we took it as a yes)

I too see things out of the corner of my eyes, when I turn to look nothing is there. Sometimes it's a white flash other times a dark shadow but no defined shape at all. I also hear at times my mom or dad call my name, mom has passed years ago and dad is over 1000 miles away...it happens at work and at home and i'm always alone..:confused1:

maybe i've lost my mind:rolllaugh:

I find it interesting when the cat or dog sit looking at the wall up near the ceiling and there is nothing there, or at least nothing that I can see.

Gale;

That's what perked my attention the second time it happened. T'wasn't just me, cuz the dog reacted to it too. They tend to see things on a diff agenda.

More good news!

Found the part what got fried during the last power surge. It was my graphics card. I robbed one from another carcass, and lo! the beast booted up!

So while I don't quite have my usual whizz-bang graphics, I am at least 1280 x 1024 at 16-bit :D

Seems we've all had our visitors. In 1980 I started hearing a voice calling me by name - almost daily during no particular time of the day or night. That was quite disturbing. I was living in a house that had a separate porch entry with it's own door, with another door entering the actual house. Whenever the outer door was opened, the inner door's window glass would vibrate. We had just finished having quite the snow storm in Minnesota and snow was everywhere, including my front porch to the tune of about 18", when all of a sudden my door's window glass vibrated and I approached the door to see who would be coming to my place around midnight only to find no one there. So I looked outside and saw footprints leading right up to the porch door, without any steps leaving the area. That was it - the next morning I immediately took all my occultish type books, novels and fiction, and threw them away and moved to the west coast the following month.

That's when I started seeing the shadow people - everywhere - at work, at home, didn't seem to matter where I was or what I was doing. Only mine were not short -about my height at 5'2" or even taller - and there wasn't any color that I can recall - just a shadow - and often times more than one at a time.

One day I was napping at home and my daughter was in the next room when she heard me scream at the top of my lungs "GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" She quickly ran across the hall into my room to see me sound asleep. When I awoke she told me what happened and strangely enough I remembered yelling those words and yet remembered nothing else whatsoever.

Odd to say the least. I haven't had another encounter of either kind for the last 8 years.

Nice to see you back with us Fred. Even though the wad got spent on the grandkids, I'll bet you enjoyed every one of their smiles and giggles - didn't ya?
