View Full Version : Court orders Iranian man blinded
A court in Iran has ruled that a man who blinded a woman with acid after she spurned his marriage proposals will also be blinded with acid.
The ruling was reported in Iranian newspapers on Thursday.
The punishment is legal under the Islamic Sharia principle of qias, equivalence or analogy, which allows retribution for violent crimes.
The court also ordered the attacker, 27-year-old Majid Movahedi, to pay compensation to the victim.
The acid attack took place in 2004. The victim, Ameneh Bahrami, went to Spain for surgery to reconstruct her face but efforts to restore her sight failed.
The ruling was a response to her plea to the court in the Iranian capital Tehran for retribution.
"Ever since I was subject to acid being thrown on my face, I have a constant feeling of being in danger," she told the court.
Ms Bahrami also said that Movahedi had also threatened to kill her.

Gary, you can post and type till your fingers bleed about atrocities that occur daily, what is your point? Elicit sympathy? You don’t even know if these people in all these articles are human or humanoid, BET or BRET or mixed DNA or of good heart.
If they are BET’s let them carry on.
You know from the Document that a victim with a good heart that believes in Jesus will be restored to full health.

Hang in there guys, we are a team, we will have some disagreements from time to time, besides the bets are going to try to get us at each others throats too. Give me a chance to discuss this with both of you please. Smiles over the coffee cup to you both.
(, , , oh hell, give me a whiskey. :) )
There is much more to this than meets the eye I think. Both about the "eye for an eye" thing and how we respond to each other about it.

I like that idea, everything goes better with whiskey.
As long as Religion and Law are intermixed, why not an eye, for an eye?
Gary, I owe you a major apology, I didn’t mean to insult you, my wording was all wrong.
I too have been hours and hours on the computer, New Years Day; I think I did over 9 hours straight on the computer, the day before about 14 hours, recently an all nighter and I am beginning to wonder what for.
News reports try to twist ones heart….. I’m sorry Gary.

Speaking of heart ...
I think its a good thing to keep in mind ie "What quality is in the others heart?"
I find myself reminding me of that when ever I disagree or question another in this arena. Another way of saying it is
"Is this a disinfo agent (BET) or is it
just another good person with a different viewpoint / approach?"
Learning more about tolerance here, I am.

It's Ok, I can understand the eye for an eye scenario would make you edgy!
I guess we all have been putting in a lot of hours recently.
Lets just all get on with what we were put here to do!
