What if a mirror or other reflective material was used as a shield?

If you do a net search for NonLethal Weapons, Robert J. Bunker, Editor, July 1997, there is a description of a cameleon (camouflage) suit that somehow reflects the scene behind onto the front so you can't see the person. I think it is done with light. There was Discovery Channel documentary on new high tech equipment that was considering putting this same cameleon camouflage on a tank. I am not sure if it used mirrors or not but I don't think so.
