There has been a lot of meteors, fireballs, comets etc.
Post pictures.

Earthgrazer: The Great Daylight Fireball of 1972 (http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap090302.html)

Explanation: What is that streaking across the sky? A bright earthgrazing meteor. In 1972, an unusually bright meteor from space was witnessed bouncing off Earth's atmosphere, much like a skipping stone can bounce off of a calm lake. The impressive event lasted several seconds, was visible in daylight, and reportedly visible all the way from Utah, USA to Alberta, Canada. Pictured above, the fireball was photographed streaking above Teton mountains behind Jackson Lake, Wyoming, USA. The Great Daylight Fireball of 1972 was possibly the size of a small truck, and would likely have created an impressive airburst were it to have struck Earth more directly. Earthgrazing meteors are rare but are more commonly seen when the radiant of a meteor shower is just rising or setting. At that time, meteors closer to the Earth than earthgrazers would more usually strike the Earth near the horizon, while meteors further than earthgrazers would miss the Earth entirely.

Asteroid hits Earth... Good news: Scientists predicted it. Bad News: Only six hours before it burst into our atmosphere

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated 07th October 2008

The asteroid - labeled 2008 TC3 - was spotted yesterday a little farther away from Earth than the Moon by a U.S. observatory in Arizona.

It ploughed into the upper atmosphere above Sudan but could also be seen from Europe as it headed from west to east.

Astronomers were only able to give the world about six hours' notice because the rock was so dark and small.

The burn-up was just as astronomers had predicted. Any object entering the atmosphere heats the air in front of it, which in turn heats the hurtling object - and that spells disintegration for asteroids of TC3's size.

The asteroid created a large fireball at about 2.46am GMT, the team at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics said.

Astronomers warning of the impending impact had been keen to emphasise that the strike would not be dangerous.

There are 5,681 such asteroids in near-Earth orbit, but only 757 of them are large enough to cause any damage if they hit the planet.

Rocks the size of TC3 hit Earth's atmosphere about two or three times a year without warning, Mr Yeomans said.

'A typical meteor comes from an object the size of a grain of sand,' said Gareth Williams of the Minor Planet Centre, adding that TC3 was 'a real humdinger in comparison'.

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed on 29 June 3123 BC (Julian calendar).

A big asteroid came in at a very low angle, slammed into the Austrian alps at Köfels, and the fireball continued on across the Mediterranean.

This was a bad day for all the people who got incinerated, buried under debris, etc.,etc.

I imagine the two cities were mysterious and sometimes dangerous urban places to the rural people who saw them destroyed. Some of these people were probably relieved that their children would no longer be drawn away by the urban cultures there.

Giant space rock passed 72,000 km from Earth on Monday (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/cbc/090303/canada/technology_asteroid_flyby_14)

Tue Mar 3, 8:27 AM SASKATCHEWAN (CBC) - An asteroid similar in size to an object that exploded above Siberia in 1908 with the force of 1,000 Second World War-era atomic bombs sped past the Earth on Monday, astronomers said Tuesday.

The asteroid, 2009 ND DD45, estimated at 21 to 47 metres across, passed 72,000 kilometres from the Earth at 8:34 a.m. ET, according to NASA's Near Earth Object program.

While 72,000 km may seem a fair distance, it is a fifth of the distance from the Earth to the Moon and about twice as far as the geosynchronous orbits of communications satellites.

The next closest approach of an asteroid in the past week was 2009 DT43, which was about half the size and passed about 390,000 km from Earth on Feb. 26.

Not that I agree with their suggested meteor of 1908 in Siberia.

Good one Zorgster

I was wondering when you were gonna get serious about the true threat to the vibram lifestyle.
I saw that thing a while back and put it here too. They did a good job, giving it 'amateur' credibility. So much so that it got me for a sec. They did well.

Fireballs

I've seen two, both heading west over west side of Big island Hawaii, around 730pm, months apart.

There must be thousands or more, considering daylight ones, and others just when no one is around to see them.

Wait, make that millions. ( 75% of planet is ocean surface after all, who is looking?)

Wernher Von Braun said: [paraphrased as I don't have the exact quote handy]

The government will create four 'manufactured' enemies to convince tax payers to pay for putting weapons in space

1) The Russians:
[been there done that the Russians were and are our allies. the Cold war was a ruse to get money to arm up]

2) Terrorists:
[that was daily news during Bush era... What WMD's? But we needed more billions to arm up for the global war on Terrorism]

3) Asteroids:
[well folks here we are at phase three... seeing more and more near Earth misses of asteroids and huge fireballs recorded and seen at an alarming frequency. I expect soon there will be news reports asking for money to build Asteroid Cannons in space... gonna need some really big guns for that one.

It wouldn't even surprise me if they were steering smaller chunks at us to drive the point home... I mean its not like they didn't think about it...

[There is a LOT of chatter around the internet about a false flag alien invasion]

Well there you go...

Wernher Von Braun was appointed by NASA to head up their interests in the Pentagon, however despite the fact he was a NAZI in the past, he had no desire to see space become an armed camp. He quit NASA and shortly after died of cancer at the age of 66

The keyword to look for is DEW (Directed Energy Weapons)

The main facility that handles these DEW weapons (and the ground based support weapons) is the Directed Energy Directorate at Kirtland AFB

http://www.kirtland.af.mil/afrl_de/

There are symposiums annually on these weapons and the state of the art of space weapons... that HAVE been operation since Regan created the Star Wars program...

Here are a few spycam pics from one symposium (2002) revealing the SBL (Space Based Laser)

Yes, I have seen a couple fire balls in my life. Yet there is another fire ball that came to earth someone should put a picture of up, the shuttle that burned up on re-entry. Compare the pictures.

I quote Zorgons post above;

"4) Alien Invasion:

[There is a LOT of chatter around the internet about a false flag alien invasion]"

Have NO DOUBTS, there is an invasion force coming from space, with at least one of those ships being 1,500 miles big, it is NOT a "false flag" invasion but very real. After taking into consideration the apparent destruction in our solar system, do any of you have any doubts as to the outcome of that invasion? Take a hard look at the evidence folks. I am assured that there will be many more fire balls to see. :)
