Another tidbit from my friend.

HIGH SCHOOL -- 1957 vs. 2007

Scenario 1:
Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack.
1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2007 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

Scenario 2:
Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.
1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2007 - Police called and SWAT team arrives -- they arrest both Johnny and Mark. They are both charged them with assault and both expelled even though Johnny started it.

Scenario 3:
Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.
1957 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal's office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2007 - Jeffrey is given huge doses of Ritalin. He becomes a zombie. He is then tested for ADD. The school gets extra money from the state because Jeffrey has a disability and later shoots his parents for no reason!

Scenario 4:
Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.
2007 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy is removed to foster care and joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has an affair with the psychologist.

Scenario 5:
Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.
1957 - Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock.
2007 - The police are called and Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario 6:
Pedro fails high school English.
1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.
2007 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

Scenario 7:
Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.
1957 - Ants die.
2007 - ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents -- and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny's dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

Scenario 8:
Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.
1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2007 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

This should hit every email inbox to show how stupid we have become!! AMEN TO THAT !!!!

I had to laugh at this one, because Norval in 1957, did take his gun to school to go hunting afterwards on his way home from school. He lived in a very rural area. Yet another display of the extent to which we are controlled by the PTB. Very, very sad.

Good stuff, Bobbi.

I googled the gun rack stuff and I learned that the laws were changed BECAUSE Norval used to come to school with his shotgun in the gun rack!~:cowboy::gunsmilie:

Gun rack hell, I was in the second and third grades when this happened. 57-58 We had to pass an NRA gun course taught by the sheriff first. I carried a .22, 30-30 or a 4-10 shot gun, on the school bus, behind the driver's seat, then put it behind the principal's door till after school. Get off the bus early and walk the rest of the way home hunting. Several of the grade schoolers did this, besides the upper grades.

Life is sure nuts today. :(

1966:
In 9th grade, Fred and his best friend, with the help of an English teacher, Mr. Darcy, form the first on-campus, school-sponsored Gun Club in the Anaheim Union High School District, at Oak Jr. High School, in Los Alamitos, Ca.

We chose Mr. Darcy as our "sponsor" because, before becoming a teacher, he was a shooting instructor for Her Majesty's Armed Forces, back in the UK.

Activities included shooting and hunter safety instruction, study of modern firearms, and several weekend outings into the local desert for safe goings-on like target practice, hands-on instruction, and the usual 13-14 yr old mayhem that goes on on camping trips.

Result:
I absorbed what I learned and turned it into a common sense approach to both the handling of and instruction re. firearms, and have passed same onto both my son, and daughter. I have owned at least one firearm ever since, usually more, including a complete re-loading bench, with dies for every center-fire caliber weapon our family owns.

"Best Friend" went on to become a policeman, including Chief of Police of Seal Beach, Irvine, and now Laguna Beach, Ca.

2007:
They'd probably fire, then arrest Mr. Darcy for inciting students to violence.
Best friend, and I would probably still be in counseling for our depraved, and violent ways.

And though I have never pointed a gun at another human either in anger or in jest (though twice in fear of my life, within my own home)...

it kinda makes you wanna shoot someone, doesn't it? ;)

Damn! I must need more counseling!

1962, Cookie was a big sister who had to watch out for her little sisters. One little sister in particular had a big mouth and didn't know when to shut up. On the way home from grade school Cookie had to fight 3 girls of a different ethnicity than her's because they were going to kill her little sister. Cookie won this fight and the little sister was never tormented again.

2009, Cookie would have been arrested and gone to court accused of a hate crime. She would stay in juvenile incarceration till she was 18 years old. Her parents would come under scrutiny by all the major news networks who would delve deeply into their past assosciations. The little sister buys a gun and joins a gang for protection.
