....and Yahweh/Jehovah
When I was a very little girl, I was force to follow my families religion... I left the Baptist Church for good when I was 14 yrs old. When I was little, what I read in the Bible made no sense to me..I couldn't understand why, in the Old Testament, god was a sword-welding god of vengence, having his followers murder women, children, men and even their animals! In Genesis 22, we see a god who asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac, just as he would a lamb. As Abraham was ready to murder his son in the name of god, an angel came to stop him because god was satisfied that Abraham was properly terrified of him....Even back in my childhood, I was convinced that this god was more human than devine.
Who is this (g)od that orders the complete and utter annihilation and the spilling of blood? What is this (g)od that enjoys the 'sweet savour' of a blood sacrifice that is burnt on a priests alter? What is this (g)od that is a 'cloud' by day and "a pillar of fire" by night?
Why would an ALL power god allow Satan to torment, persecute and allow every atrocity except death to inflict Job, a righteous man, and then this same god restores Job's prosperity?
KJV.. Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Who were these 'sons of god' and what was Satan doing there with them? Could this had happened pre-war, before Satan became The Satan?
Jehovah was an actual being not an ephemeral 'now you see me, now you don't' kind of 'god'. He would, of course, appear to be a god-like due to his technological advancement. This advancement allowed him to present himself as a god to a primative race of chosen humans by preforming 'magic tricks' and by the 'miraculously smitting' of their enemies.
His anatomy is discussed in the Bible.
Psalms 89:13, talks about him arms.
Psalms 74:11.. a bosom.
2 Chr. 16:9...eyes.
Exodus 33:20..a face.
1 Peter 3:12... ears, eyes
Psalms 18:9...feet
Daniel 7:9...hair, head
Exodus 31:18...finger
Exodus 33:23...hand and back of body
Jer. 31:20...bowels
Deut. 33:12...shoulders
Isaiah 30:27...lips and tongue
Mat. 4:4...mouth
2 Sam. 22:9...nostrils
Sounds really 'humanoid' to me.... Maybe he didn't want anyone to look upon his face because his face was very different than ours... just a thought..
I am of the opinion that before the Great War, 'things' were run much differently than after the War...Since this is a prison planet, I'm thinking that after all the 'tinkering' was done, specific assignments were handed down and there have been many different (g)ods or sons of God in antiquity... I don't know who's in charge now... All I'm sure of is that there is a Creator..
