Kinda catchy, huh?
Up until about a month ago, my "signature" on another forum I haunt was:
.: Thread Killer Fred :.
Because it is extremely rare that anyone posts a single word about any of my comments, or stories. I have probably stopped more threads there than any other member, just by offering my 2 cent's worth.
This mean that I am either:
So incredibly profound that, once I have spoken, there is absolutely nothing else that needs said. Or,
I am so completely insane, that no one wants to be associated with the post.History will decide.
Now, I don't want to disparage the thinking of anyone, but if Bush had told 75% of the posters there who still think he's God, to "Eat your children.", the BBQ smoke would have blotted out the sky.
If you don't know of AntiWar.com, or Justin Raimondo, suffice it to say that it's the last site you would ever expect a neo-conned group to cite. The man writes about our abandoning the Constitution, and our foolish foreign policy ways. Surprise, surprise, now that Obama is in office, and nothing has changed, he's suddenly quotable on that forum.
Never thought I'd actually see a post citing his reporting, but there was one there, today. So pardon me for gloating (I just had to tell someone!), but this was better'n sex! Ok, almost...
PS: Yes, I killed the thread :)
On a site where the average is 2-3 posts a minute, 24-7, there hasn't been a single post to that thread after mine, in the last 6.5 hours.
Veni, vidi, morte
I wonder if it's your fanciful way with words?
* So incredibly profound that, once I have spoken, there is absolutely nothing else that needs said. Or,

Or three, people haven't read the blatant blunt truth in so long it's shocking.
The same as I don't understand all the hype about elections, who ever gets elected no matter what claims they make during their parade of foolish antics, the newly elected victim still has to fall in line with the PTB. So elections are just more drama that ends up irrelevant.

You could say my use of words is just.... some.. antics.

Awww gawd Fred, you too? Truth is a thread killer when most posters want to deceive and tell lies. I used to do that in christian forums myself. That was part of how Gale and I learned of concerted efforts being made to keep specific truths from being told in forums.
I like the antics Fred, it displays some character. It is refreshing to read, thanks.

Do they have smurfs on that forum?
I know this is off topic but can you define what a forum smurf is?
I think there is a 3 letter agency that uses the word smurf. There is the online definition but I don't think this is what you are meaning.
1. [from the soc.motss newsgroup on Usenet, after some obnoxiously gooey cartoon characters] A newsgroup regular with a habitual style that is irreverent, silly, and cute. Like many other hackish terms for people, this one may be praise or insult depending on who uses it. In general, being referred to as a smurf is probably not going to make your day unless you've previously adopted the label yourself in a spirit of irony. Compare old fart.
2. [techspeak] A ping packet with a forged source address sent to some other network's broadcast address. All the machines on the destination network will send a ping response to the forged source address (the victim). This both overloads the victim's network and hides the location of the attacker.

Back on AV there are some trolls who call themselves smurfs. Right now they have the forum pretty well hijacked, and they're able to mess with people's posts...hence the original question to Fred. It was tongue in cheek, though.

Yeah, politics has been turned into an incurable wasteland, at this point. Almost impossible to change within the system.
Seems the public has been successfully divided into two camps, screaming nonsense at each other. Both sides dead sure that the nation will be re-united in prosperity and bliss, just as soon as we kill the other half. "...full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
I'm tellin' ya, they outa sell tickets. In fact the entire idea of an existing "political spectrum" is an illusion, IMO.
What they've been sold:
And what really is:
But it beats watching Lucy re-runs.

As that is a political forum, I doubt it WhiteCrow.

Well Fred, they are selling tickets, but only the advertisers on those networks are buying them.
Personally I think the Lucy re-runs are better to watch. :)

Hey WC, nice to see you.
Actually they don't... or haven't had in a couple of years. The main admin over there, Dennis is a pretty good guy. He has a well-earned reputation for being so damned tolerant, that when he says, "enuff", it's rare to hear an argument.
I've been a member there since 2000 (my reg. date says 2002, but I had to re-register after a 'puter crash). In that time I think I've seen 2 mebbe 3 "troll campaigns".

@ Fred...I just realized a mistake I made months ago. I'd gone hiking a couple of times with a guy named Fred from your area...all this time I've been thinking you were him. I was poking around the forum last night and saw your pic at your profile page...realized you and I have never met. Hope no confusion was caused, other than in my already-mixed-up brain!
Wasn't there a bill passed in the US Congress that nullified any human rights or citizens rights covered by the US Constitution because of the so called War on Terror?

he heh.... Bless ya Gale ;)
Oh... just a few:
Patriot Act,
Violated the 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th amendments.
Military Commissions Act,
More of the same, and repealed habeas corpus.
NADA 2006 (The 2006-2007 Defense Bill, passed Dec 2006)
Canceled Posse Comitatus.
The last FISA Bill
Further violated the 4th, and 5th amendments and also contained ex post facto law. come to mind.
And in case you ask:
"ex post facto" means "after the fact". It means you cannot change the legality of acts committed in the past, either way! Which was exactly what they did when they gave the Telco's immunity from prosecution for acts which were illegal when they did them.
Article 1 Section 9: "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed."

PS: In case you were fixin' to ask... "What is a Bill of Attainder ?"
Remember back in the late 70's, a guy named Salman Rhushdie wrote a book, "The Satanic Verses", that so pissed off the Ayatolah, that he issued a "fatwah" saying that any muslim who saw him had permission to kill him, on site?
Well that is what it is. Says the President cannot issue any kind of order to kill someone without benefit of trial. As far as they can go, "legally", is to issue an arrest warrant, post a reward for capture, etc.
Awww the Patriot Act, that was the one I had hear about somewhat recently (911).
I don't know the others, I don't follow American politics nor Canadian politics. I used to years ago back when the NDP were the party for the workers. I did like Prime Minister Trudeau, his public life but was surprised when it was published he had talked to Jean Chretien. Told Chretien if he wanted to be Prime Minister he would have to distance himself from the Separatist movement. Which Chretien did and the rest is history. But at the same time the Native Indian people in Quebec had informed the government that if there was a separation then they would demand all their lands back which would be most if not all of Quebec. I think that claim or statement of claim still keeps the separatists inline.
What I find so ironic is the border between the US and Canada, it is an arbitrary line on the continent. On a school trip back, oh goodness, had to be in the late 60's, of the Thousand Islands in Lake Ontario, the tour guide announced the change in color of the water when we went into American Waters. So young and foolish we kids all looked over the side of the boat. ..
Oh I digressed, pardon me.
