Stripped of dogma, social teaching, and political contamination, all religions turn out to be ways of dealing with the same thing: the numinous. This is something each of us has to enter alone. Because religion is such a dandy tool for controlling masses of people, it's filled with charlatans and thieves.

When we approach Truth, we stand alone. Truth isn't something that can be contained in a box or a book, let alone a building.

numinous - definition of numinous by the Free Online Dictionary ...
nu·mi·nous (n m-n s, ny-) adj. 1. Of or relating to a numen; supernatural. 2. Filled with or characterized by a sense of a supernatural presence: a numinous place.

Numinous - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Numinous (pronounced /nu?m?n?s, nju?m?n?s/) (from the Classical Latin numen) is an English adjective describing the power or presence of a divinity. The word was popularised in the early twentieth century by the German theologian Rudolf Otto in his influential book
Das Heilige (1917; translated into English as The Idea of the Holy, 1923).

More hocus pocus there WhiteCrow? It's just another form of mental masturbation based on self satisfaction in my book. When people just want to know the truth about anything, why do some always have to go esoteric and mystical? I think yer full of shit WhiteCrow, and that's the truth as I read it.

Hell, I throw the tiller to port and the boat goes to starboard, plain and simple truth. What was once unknown is now known, along with how and why. Technological comprehension, plain and simple. We still learn the same truths from "books" (1+1=2), now from "boxes called computers" (a vast storehouse of truth, just ask Fred), besides I keep those in a "building" (well, boat.). Where do you get your truth, or store it? :)

You're sure entitled to think whatever you like. Personally I think religion is a trap. I think there are truths that are beyond us, and I think there are aspects of the world that are worthy of awe. We don't have to agree, but I will try not to get personal and insulting about it. You could always just ban me if you don't like my thoughts. That's what some other forum owners do rather than engage in dialog.

We agree that religion is a trap.

The only truth that is beyond me is what I have not learned.

I stand in awe of the whole world.

Thinking is good, but the usage of words from a dead language, i.e. latin, is bull shit.

So, as I asked, where do you get your truths or store them?
I think I made my points. Keep up the dialog. :)

No need. I visit this forum mostly to read and try to learn something. Should I be foolish enough to try to contribute anything, I'll be beyond my depth and will probably be insulted again. So I'll just read.

Guess you can't answer questions either, , , ,

Considering what comes out of your typing (mouth) I would say that is a wise choice, , , just reading.

There is another form of shit that comes to mind, , , , "chicken shit."

I'm an honest seeker. I've read the Bible cover to cover, more than once. There is much, much more there than meets the eye - especially the indoctrinated eye. This is an area of interest for me. But I'm not going to engage in conversation with someone who is both rude and arrogant. Any insights I may have, you plainly don't consider worth consideration. I'm not going to waste time in a flame war.

Well, that's just lame WhiteCrow, call me arrogant and rude if yah want, yer still just ducking the questions, as usual.

So, as I asked, where do you get your truths or store them?

How about clarifying the question? I can't tell what you're driving at. When you say "my" truths, is this just probing for an opening for more insults, or are you acknowledging that truth is subjective? And what do you mean by "storing" them?

Your statement.
My questions are simple, just answer. :)

My original statment was simple, and not meant to be controversial. I've asked you to rephrase your question. If you choose not to, that's fine by me. I don't have to prove anything to you, and I don't have to choose to be insulting about it. I'm not dodging the question, I'm trying to get you to clarify it, which you seem unable to do. Why waste our time?

, , , Another one's down, another one's down, another one bites the dust.

Why try to complicate it?

Exactly how it looks to me. Enough time wasted.
