European cities fill with protests against Gaza war

Hundreds of thousands marched in cities across the continent to protest Israel's war on Gaza over the weekend in the biggest pan-European demonstrations the continent has seen since those against the launch of the Iraq war in 2003.



The largest protests took place in Spain, with some 250,000 rallying in Madrid on Saturday (10 January) and another 100,000 in Barcelona, according to organisers. Police declined to give their own estimate for Madrid, but reckoned 30,000 marched through the Catalonian capital.

Massive protests also took place in London, Brussels and throughout France. Sizeable demonstrations also took place in German and Italian cities, as well as Athens, Thessaloniki, Budapest, Bregenz, Oslo and Stockholm.

Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero, the first European leader to take part in such rallies, addressed a protest in Ourense.

"It is my duty to call on Israel to implement an immediate cease-fire," he told the protest, which as with others throughout the country, was organised by NGOs, trade unions and the prime minister's own Socialist Workers' Party, the PSOE.

Some 4,000 trooped through Seville, while Malaga, Valencia, and Palma de Mallorca also saw demonstrations. Thousands protested again on Sunday in Madrid.

In the UK, 100,000 filled Hyde Park in London, where human rights campaigner Bianca Jagger and Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox led the crowd alongside trade unionists, Muslim leaders, Jewish peace activists and left-wing groups.

Towards the end of the London demonstration, police sealed off hundreds of protesters near the Israeli embassy as a number of them attempted to enter the building. Such devices are part of a government and industry surveillance program that is undoubtedly connected to the forced digital TV switchover being rolled out in the UK and US.
“I could not believe my eyes,” states the blurb accompanying the video clip, “I have a friend who is kind of a conspiracy theorist. He was trying to convince me that many of the digital TV convert boxes that are coming out have microphones and cameras built into them. Knowing a bit about electronics I bought one of these devices opened it up fully intending on proving him wrong. To my surprise he was right. This device has both a miniature camera lens and what looks like a microphone. I was so shocked I took pictures and video. Please send this out to everyone you know who is using one of these devices.”

Barack Obama may soon be known as the Teleprompter President as his dependence on his teleprompters get more notice every day. He goes nowhere without them and is not usually seen speaking without their help.

Onlookers have found that Obama with and without his teleprompter becomes two different men. While the President is fluid in his speech and shows total poise in a prepared speech, his unscreened answers or extempore speech are too full of the universal filler “umm”. It has become obvious that he cannot go beyond the scripted words without a good deal of stuttering, causing a fresh wave of criticism of the president who cannot speak off the cuff.

According a report in the New York Times, Obama is possibly the only American President in 50 years to have such a major dependence on his Teleprompter. Other Presidents used teleprompters on their most important speeches, whether it was the inaugural speech or the Oval Office address. But Obama uses them for routine announcements too. He used them on a visit to the Caterpillar plant in Peoria, Ill and then to make remarks about his “fiscal responsibility summit”. He even used them to talk about endangered species of animals reading out from the teleprompter, “That was an experience I will never forget.”

The New York Times also says, “For Mr. Obama, a teleprompter means message discipline, sticking close to the intended words. While some presidents prefer extemporizing, Mr. Obama likes the message to be just so. After all, he is a best-selling author who has helped write a lot of his major speeches, so he presumably feels a certain fidelity to the crafted text.”

The History Channel came to Dulce on January 31 to do a series of interviews, including myself. Bill Birnes, Pat Uskert, John Greenewald and the entire crew came to Dulce. They will be producing a special one-hour program on the Dulce controversy.
The program is called the UFO Hunters and it will be aired probably in the summer.

The presentation didn't even state who they were, I had to search the net for that information. Why would they do this presentation, informed there were actual vents and not even go to any tangible effort to find even one vent? They get to the top of the mesa look around, then nothing. Their native guide didn't want to show them where the hole was so what was stopping them from pursuing it themselves?

The Preparedness Expo 1996 was in September, he was found dead in his home in January 1997. I think those dates are correct, but I want to know, what happened to his book that he was writing?

In what I had seen in the youtube videos, Phil never said if the other survivors were civilian or military. If he did, I missed it. I did notice there were 2 different accounts, one said both survivors were in Canada in some health facilities, the other account was only one survivor in Canada but both recovering, not talking and not allowed visitors.
The other two survivors could be military and not necessarily both American military. Just food for thought.
So personally, I take that as simply the two are not talking, as yet. That is if there are two other survivors (still alive).
