I'm not altogether surprised Fox News jammed that story. They have been known to censor a thing or two concerning the impending global financial meltdown and who's fault it was.

The interesting thing about live broadcasts, there is always a delay so they can censor. I thought that was common knowledge.

Re. the clip:
The first blot-out appears quite normal, down to the local cable co mentioning specific counties, etc.

What seems out of place though is it contains none of the verbage of the weekly test announcement, nor the actual warnings issued (flash flood warnings, etc) around here (SoCal). Neither have I ever seen ones sent out in all caps.

If you care to watch FOX for more than 2 or 3 days (I stopped early 2002), you can watch something interesting. In the clip you will see what appears to be a lot of "free-form banter". You know, "just folk like you and me, expressing how they really feel about the news they read us".

Mea Culpa, I woke up much too early one morning, and had already had 2 cups of the elixir. Normally, I'd have the TV on for noise, while I read off the Internet., but I was looking a bit more closely.

Here came one of the sessions that began with, "now what I think is...", and off she went, then male bimbo (on the right in this clip) answers back, and my jaw dropped...

I woke up the wife, "Honey look! their eyes are going back and forth! They're following the tele-prompter!" In her wisdom she replied, "It's the news dummy. They're s'posed to".

"No, but honey... this isn't news, this is just them talking. Expressing their opinions, and it's scripted!"

By now she was awake enough to show pity. She didn't flatten my head for waking her up with my intuitive grasp of the obvious, she just said, "Prolly for the best." and rolled over. Further proof of: "All men exist by the grace of women's boundless charity and forgiveness."

I've found that most people are fast asleep and blissfully elated about American Idol, and think that anybody who is talking about substantive issues is crazy or some sort of 'conspiracy theorist' as they sit in their Laz-e-Boy recliner watching America slide down the toilet. Even a lot of people who should know better have not taken any steps to prepare for the collapse of the American economy. So there are some who are interested in these issues, but most are asleep. But I do see that a growing minority of people are waking up and are interested in saving themselves and the people of this country. I guess that the best thing to do now is to find like-minded people and to work with those types of people in your area. From what I've seen, it will take groups of people working together to make it through this. If the gubbamint corporation is going to unleash troops on us to send us to the 'showers' (which looks highly probable), we are going to need like-minded neighbors and communities that will stand up to these fascists. United we can win, but if each person waits until he/she has 30 storm troopers outside of their home, the probability of success is very low

An economist whose stuff I like to read, Paul Craig Roberts, posted a great summation of that, a couple years ago. It so pissed me off, it took me 3 days to figure out that what had me going was the fact I didn't want to admit I was beginning to agree with him...

The Dutch government sent their MP's survival kits for Xmas, A national advertising campaign on the telly and the radio just before Xmas warning people to stock up on food and buy a survival kit because, well, you never know?
Now a National advertising campaign saying the same thing on buses and bus shelters, as Norval would say, mmmmmmmmm!
