A co-worker emailed this to me, so I thought I would share.

Subject:Thought For The Day..

Hello. I'm not sure when, some years ago.. I came across this..I do recall it was appropriate and profound at the time, confess to editing it somewhat..and to mature adults, I think it relevant to all our lives...
'The Authors of Sorrow'
Each of us has memories of certain people who helped to shape and direct our lives and who have caused us to become better people because of the experience. Each of us has also had people in our past, both immediate and distant who have left a negative impression, perhaps a grotesque and better forgotten memory that will nevertheless not go away. These too have shaped our characters. We are grateful to the former but may be vindictive to the latter. And yet, perhaps we should be grateful to both. One blesses us and encourages us to follow their example. The other warns us not to follow their example and cause another pain. Both are equally important. Both are teachers in living. Both are necessary to our growth.
Should we not thank the authors of sorrow as well as the authors of joy?I have both the good and the bad in my past, and I am indebted to both for teaching me the difference.Indeed I would like to put aside those unhappy memories, those times of confusion and pain, given by those whose own bitterness caused them to court failure instead of challenge. But then I would be a one sided person, handicapped in everyday life. As I grow older, those people who used me, belittled me, shamed me, and embarassed me and those people who hurt me, betrayed me, misunderstood me and did not live up to my expectations became very important to me and very personal, for they indeed helped to shape my life. They made me realise that I, too, without even realizing it,may have been one of them in someone else's life.
Unintentional, perhaps, but none the less very real. I would rather think if this is so that I was beneficial, even in my destruction and that I helped and not hindered.

A thought worth pondering, perhaps..
Be Well...

and I would thank the one who has been instrumental in testing me.

Then I would probably sock em in the nose for general principles, , , ,
